While rumors have been going around all day regarding Silent Hill series composer and producer Akira Yamaoka leaving Konami, OSV has received official confirmation from Yamaoka himself. This is huge news for the gaming industry, as Yamaoka has been one of the biggest critics of the Japanese gaming industry. It will be interesting to see what he does if he decides to work freelance in the gaming industry.

I hope he continues to work on Silent Hill at least. His music is one of the only consistantly good things about the series since SH started going downhill.
Yamaoka its a shame to see him leave the great franchise of Silent Hill one of the main things that kept me hooked to the series was the music. That music just made the enviroments so much more scarier. I hope he continues to work on the series, but if not i’d really like to see another solo album and Mr. Yamaoka if youre reading this iFuturelist was a great and beautiful album please make another album. Don’t leave music you have so much talent and tour the US. Too much to ask? Just make another album and continue on Silent Hill. I know you yourself are a fan of the series so I know it would pain you to see it go down hill. Thanks
I think that he is a great and one of the best compositor of game and art music… As he said, he loves to mix music with art… so I think that Akira will be an excelent solist. Maybe he can create a brand new game, with all the experience that he gained through the years with konami, it would be interesting to see a game from him.
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter
to be actually something that I think I would never
understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
