Demon’s Souls Soundtrack Bypasses Japan, Hits The US First

[1]

You may have read earlier today that Atlus is rewarding US fans’ patience with not only a limited edition artbook for the game, but also a full soundtrack release. This is significant not only because it’s twice the pre-order bonus, but also because Japan never received a soundtrack release for the game, meaning it will be out in the United States first. Pretty unique for a Japanese game

We had the opportunity to check out the game and some of its music at Anime Expo [2], and I was impressed. Shunsuke Kida is responsible for the orchestral store, and I can’t wait to hear the album in its entirety.  If you want to hear some of the tracks yourself, Atlus has uploaded two music samples to their official website [3], so go check it out!

Has Atlus convinced you to stop importing the game yet?  Are you looking forward to hearing the game’s music in a CD player near you?

I’ve always liked the Main Theme since it was featured in the original trailer music, but Phalanx was rather boring. I hope the full track at least develops a bit more.

Huh… is this going to be a full soundtrack release or will this be more of a promo like the CDs that came with copies of games like Persona 3 and 4?

Still, it’s something to look forwards to.

Full soundtrack, they say.

zzeroparticle,

Atlus USA released the entirety of Persona 4’s soundtrack across two separate discs that you had to procure via special preorder madness.

Usually Atlus USA will only release one disc for a soundtrack, regardless of the size of the import soundtrack. Given the nature of how music is used in Demon’s Souls, I doubt that more than 80 minutes’ worth of music was written, so there’s every reason to believe a one disc soundtrack would be the FULL soundtrack for the game.
