XSEED made my day yesterday when they announced that fans who pre-order Fragile in the United States will be receiving a bonus CD titled MOONLIGHT TRACKS. I never thought we’d get this game, much less a bonus soundtrack disc. Japan also received a pre-order a similar pre-order bonus titled MOONLIGHT TRAX, and I have to admit that I like their trendy album title a little better.
So where does this 20% business come into play? Well, apparently XSEED is saying the MOONLIGHT TRACKS disc features 12 selections from the game, whereas Japan’s MOONLIGHT TRAX featured only 10 (for those of you who aren’t good at math, that’s 20% more music!). So not only are we getting the CD, but we’re getting 2 additional tracks. How’s that for taking care of their fans in the US? If there’s one saving grace for the Japanese release at this point, it’s that the cover art was a whole lot classier.
The game is out in March on the Wii, and I couldn’t be more excited for it. Watch for our coverage next month!

meh. Preorder bonuses are nice… But if you’re going to care to listen to the soundtrack at all, you really owe it to yourself to go all out and buy the full two-disc Japanese soundtrack (published by Team Entertainment).
I know it’s difficult to pull off releasing an entire two disc soundtrack as a preorder bonus. But Atlus has done it, more than once in fact. When XSEED makes that step, I’ll get excited.
In any case, I am pumped about this game, and am glad it’s coming to America.

Definitely excited about the game. But yeah, I’m not really interested in partial soundtrack CDs either. It’s one of the big reasons I’m getting the regular edition of FFXIII and not the collectors edition. Already got the soundtrack.
My favourite kind of extras for video games would without a doubt be documentaries. Art books, CDs, night vision goggles and models I can do without. But I’ve always been a sucker for well produced and detailed documentaries.

I just think it’s awesome that they’re seeing Japan’s pre-order bonus and raising it two tracks.

ooh, soylent system, I agree! I really like documentaries / “making of” movies. 🙂
