Hunz hails from a land down under, and if the cover art from his upcoming debut album on Apeginine Recordings is any indication, you better run, you better take cover. Johannes “Hunz” Van Vliet is actually one of my favorite demoscene artists. Why is this guy so cool? Not only does he write amazing electronic music with stellar vocals, but he also nails the artist “look” without even trying. Well, today Apeginine Recordings announced that Hunz’s debut album, When Victims Fight is now available for pre-order.

Hit the jump for more details and for a trippy photo of Hunz!

When Victims Fight is set to ship internationally on July 20th for $17 plus shipping. The album has been in the works for quite some time, and I’ve been looking forward to it since at least early 2007!

I recommend heading over Hunz’s Myspace profile to sample the album. It features high-quality electronic music with excellent production values, complete with Hunz’s signature vocal style that earned him such a large fan base through the 1990s when he got his start in the demoscene. Some of the samples are reminiscent of Radiohead, which is definitely a good thing in my book.

Is anyone out there a Hunz fan? Are you impressed with the samples on his Myspace?
