Professor Layton 3 Trailer Music is Strikingly Elegant and Cool

While I don’t even remember seeing Professor Layton 2, the the music in the latest Professor Layton 3 trailer has caught some people’s attention. It features a cool orchestral piece that is accented by a jazzy piano melody and percussion. The production values are quite high, sounding like something from an anime, and I’m really enjoying the style.

I can’t say I’m familiar with the series, so does anyone know if the music in the previous titles was similar? There seems to be a soundtrack release for the first two Professor Layton titles due out in November, so it looks like they’re just now catching up. While I’m curious to hear the in-game music for Professor Layton 3, I guess we’ll have to enjoy the trailer in the meantime and hope that the game features similar production values.
