Legendary UK game composer and demoscene musician Matt Simmonds [2] (aka 4mat) is stepping up to the plate once again with a brand new digital full-length. A regular on chiptune music sharing site 8bitcollective [3], 4mat has been posting bits and bobs of his work online for quite a while now. But none of it can properly prepare you for the cinematic grandeur that is his latest album, ‘Decades.’ Simmonds’ odyssey runs the gamut from ambient downtempo and electrotrance to dizzying breakbeats and epic VGM-style orchestration, coagulating into a bold and diverse showcase of 20 years’experience in videogame and computer audio.
