Rings of the Future: Jagged Soundwaves Etched Into Precious Metals

Ouch. That looks like it’d hurt to wear, but I have to admit it’s an amazing idea. What is the idea, you ask? It all starts with a waveform of your choosing. From there, Japanese artist Sakura Koshimizu, a laser beam, and a ring of steel combine forces to create a unique piece of art to wear on your finger!

I’m already dreaming up getting something like the first few measures of Super Mario Bros. or the Final Fantasy victory fanfare. But then I’m a huge nerd. I imagine this is a pretty pricey process, and it’d probably get annoying trying to explain the ring to people you meet, not to mention the raw, bloodied ring fingers.

Would you consider having something like this made? A wedding ring perhaps?
