Rodea The Sky Soldier Soundtrack Available Now

[1]

Be it hedgehogs, firefighters or dancing penguins [2], Yuji Naka’s games frequently feature soundtracks just as memorable as the games themselves. The same holds true for his Prope studio’s latest release, Rodea The Sky Soldier [3]. Released on November 10th for Wii U and 3DS, Rodea features a soundtrack from Takayuki Nakamura [4] and his Brainstorm sound studio.

Nakamura has previously contributed music to an eclectic array of games including the Virtua Fighter series, Tobal 2, Ehrgeiz and, more recently, Ninety-Nine Nights, Imported [5] and the Lumines series. You can hear a little bit of all those styles in Rodea’s soundtrack which accents the game’s free-flying aerial action with both orchestral and electronic elements.

“Working on Rodea the Sky Soldier has been one of the highlights of my career,” reflects Nakamura. “Mr. Yuji Naka had a very distinct vision for this game from the outset, and upon seeing the first prototype with Rodea flying through the clear blue sky, I was immediately struck with inspiration for the game’s title theme. While the scope and platform changed over the course of the years, I’m still pleased with the outcome. I hope you enjoy the game and its soundtrack!”

Released alongside the game, the soundtrack is available now on iTunes [6] and Amazon [7] and contains 23 tracks. You can check out the 4-track sample [8] embedded above, grab the vocal theme song featuring artist Dino for free [9], or find out even more about the soundtrack at the Japanese website [10].
