With Tekken Tag Tournament 2 around the corner, maybe you’ve completely forgotten about Tekken Hybrid. I admit that I had. But in addition to getting a remastered HD version of the original Tekken Tag Tournament, a souped up demo of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and the entire Tekken Blood Vengeance CGI film (which sported an awesome soundtrack by Basiscape), there’s also a limited edition bundle that contains, among other things, a limited edition soundtrack that claims to feature selections from Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. I was wondering what this disc was all about, and as it turns out, it contains the entire PS2 version of the original Tekken Tag Tournament soundtrack on the first disc as well as what is seemingly a large portion (if not all) of the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 soundtrack on the second disc.

Now, the official Tekken Tag Tournament 2 soundtrack from SuperSweep will be on two discs, so I’m not sure how it was all crammed onto one disc in this collection, but in terms of track numbers and names, it’s all there with the exception of two ‘long version’ tracks that are featured at the end of the SuperSweep release.  Is it possible that these are the only two tracks missing from the Tekken Hybrid disc?  Track lengths may also account for the difference, but we won’t know until the SuperSweep release is out.

In the meantime, however, you can check out Tekken Hybrid which launches next week on the PS3 for $39.99 (regular edition without the CD) or $59.99 (limited edition with CDs and extras).

Are you surprised to hear just how much music is included with the set? Does this sway your opinion one way or the other, and are you looking forward to Tekken Tag Tournament 2?
