transistorvinyl [1]

Following the newly released [2] vinyl edition of Bastion, Supergiant Games has announced the availability of Transistor: Original Soundtrack, also on vinyl. Available now [3] for $40, the album comes on two 180 gram milky clear vinyl disks and includes 24 tracks composed by Darren Korb with lyrics by Ashley Barrett.

“We collaborated with Pirates Press to create this set and couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. There’s something special about hearing this music on vinyl, as it fits the feel of the world of Transistor better than any other format.” -Supergiant Games

The vinyl edition also includes download codes for the digital versions of the album and the Extended edition which features over 80 minutes of new material and alternate versions. Originally released alongside the game in 2014, the Original Soundtrack album is also available digitally for $9.99.

Any Supergiant fans out there picking up Bastion, Transistor or both to add to your vinyl collection?

I dropped Bastion very early since it doesn’t really hooked me.
But Transistor… that was instant love upon seeing (and hearing) the trailer for the first time.
The clever and meaningful utilisation of music in the Game deserves a article itself on OSV 🙂

For a moment i really considered buying the vinyl. But without access to a device to even play it, and the shipping cost to Germany doubling the price tag, that would be a little to ridiculous.

Still heavily diggin’ especially the vocal tracks.
