MintJam’s “Crying Moon” was one of the best songs out of their vocal album, 4th GIG #Decide. This album was their first all vocal release after TERRA, the vocalist, joined the group and expanded even more upon the incredible sound of MintJam. So it would make sense that as they explore and discover new instruments and tools, they would revisit some of their classics. That’s just what they did, but the results, or intent for that matter, probably wasn’t to improve the song…

The Otamatone is an instrument/toy developed by CUBE Works and Maywa Denki, and is literally a screaming instrument. The way it works is that you slide and squeeze the neck of the instrument to change the pitch or do vibrato while squeezing the mouth. The result is like hearing a cat pop its cherry.
