When I think of the word “viking” I am instantly flooded with images of matted loincloths and epic battles, gnarly beards and battle scarred faces. Sumthing Else MusicWorks is destined to audibly illustrate this imagery with the release of VIKING: Battle for Asgard – The Soundtrack.  The soundtrack will be composed by Richard Beddow, Walter Nair, Simon Ravn and performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir.

“Wait, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir you say..? This soundtrack sounds epic already.”  I agree.  The soundtrack will be made available through select retail outlets this coming Tuesday, September 23, 2008.

How do you feel about games that feature live recorded orchestral scores? Do you feel that certain game genres are better suited for orchestral scoring over others, or does it simply depend on the context?
