I’ll admit I haven’t been following EA’s Facebreaker as closely as I should be. I’m actually really excited about the game, and even more excited that the team cites Punch Out!! as their inspiration for the title. I had pretty high hopes for the game’s soundtrack given the Punch Out!! influence, but boy was I wrong…
EA put out a listing of the music that will be heard in the game, and yeah, you’re going to be punching guys out to acts like The Hives, Wolfmother, and a bunch of artists that I’m not familiar with (should I be?). Despite the intiial disappointment, I’m still hoping the team picked these tracks because they kinda-sorta-maybe-just-slightly resemble some of the stuff I loved from Punch Out!!.
Were you expecting something a little… different from Facebreaker? Do any of the artists on this list get you excited about the game’s soundtrack?
