No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. On top of writing all of the music for Final Fantasy XIV, Uematsu is signed on for two Nintendo DS RPGs. The first is Fantasy Life, a newly-announced “slow-pace adventure RPG” for Nintendo DS from Level 5 and Brownie Brown. As you can see in the picture above (from the game’s official Japanese site), the Japanese text there says “Ongaku: Uematsu Nobuo” (Music: Nobuo Uematsu). Apparently, the game will have twenty different endings, and each ending will have its own piece of music written by Uematsu himself.

The second game is a Marvelous Entertainment title, featuring a dream team of previous, and current, Square Enix and Marvelous employees. Entitled Sakura Note, this game will be more a graphic adventure than a traditional RPG. Uematsu is currently the only confirmed composer for the game. It’s already been revealed that the game’s OST will come as a preorder bonus with the game in Japan.
